Kapanlagi.com - Tahun 2009 sebentar lagi lewat, banyak artis dan pelaku dunia hiburan sudah membuat resolusi untuk tahun 2010 mendatang. Salah satunya Sam Bettay Brodie. Rencananya mantan bintang acara reality show terpopuler di UK BIG BROTHERS tersebut akan merilis sebuah single lagu.
“Ini lagu recycle milik Aqua yang judulnya Barbie Girl, tapi di Bahasa Indonesia kan,” ungkapnya saat disambangi di Immigrant Plaza Indonesia, Selasa (22/12).
“Aku pinginnya sesuatu yang lucu tidak terlalu serius, seperti Mbah Surip. Karena masyarakat kita sedang banyak ditimpa bencana, dari gempa sampai banjir, dan juga banyak yang bunuh diri. Dan ini bagaimana caranya mereka itu lepas dari stress, happy dan tertawa,” celoteh Sam.
Tak hanya single, Sam juga berencana bikin short film, sebuah film dokumenter semacam reality show kisah hidup Sam Bettay yang kru filmnya adalah anak kuliahan dari Brunei, Singapura, dan Indonesia, yang nantinya akan dikasih judul BUKAN SEKEDAR LELAKI JELITA.
“Mungkin nanti aku akan ngadain premier kecil-kecilan, ama temen-temen aja. Kalau misalkan dibawa ke festival atau apa itu belum kepikiran,” tuturnya.
Tapi sebelum menyambut tahun baru, Sam akan terbang ke Bali untuk merayakan Natal bersama keluarga besar.
“Walau saya muslim, tapi keluarga besar saya fifty-fifty. Ada muslim dan Kristennya. Ini sebenarnya sudah menjadi tradisi keluarga besar, apalagi saya sudah sekitar 15 tahunan tidak ketemu. Pasti aku excited banget dan nangis-nangis,” pungkasnya.
Hope you have all been keeping well, I am deeply sorry I haven’t updated my blog for a while I have had a busy few months, been off to Bali, Pekanbaru twice, Malaysia, done photo shoots for Teen Vogue, Good House-Keeping (Indonesia), Mari Claire (Indonesia), ELLE (UK), and various tabloid features, so its been a packed couple of months, with meeting people, castings, along with all my work schedules, I always find time to party, as i feel its always important to keep up with your friends and team on a regular basis, communication is everything.
Indonesia has been a big learning experience for me its not always as easy as everyone thinks, working in this Entertainment Industry here is extremeoy Bitchy, Competitive and I was shocked at the amount of celebrity back stabbers, people really need to watch what they say….

My Day started at like 6am and the Traffic as always was killing me….Urgh…”Traffic made me sooo sebel” haha
I then headed off to Kemang where I was cordially invited to attend the opening of Arbor&Troy Store opening at Papillion Club 21 Building, the soft opening was extremely busy and I spent ages taking pictures with everyone, sooo cute ^_^….BAZZAR Magazine and Destinasian Magazine were in attendance so look out for me.
At the Car Park I saw this awesome OLDY Car that reminded me of the Dukes of Hazzard Movie, so couldnt resist posing by the car for quick photo….

I recently went on a shopping spree to one of the Malls in Jakarta, it really does have a great selection of things to buy although it is underestimated, as I think people think Indonesia is all forests and white sandy beaches….

On the way Home Stopped off at Giant, banyak sekalli yang stopped by and said “Hi” Thanks for that people….
Traffic on the way home was making me setengah sleepy di mobil, sampai nyampe kembali ke Jakarta aku sudah pegel badan nya dan pengen di urut sama tukang pijit….”But no, didnt have time too” Cause my Galz had arranged a night out di J-Town, and I stopped by at a few clubs….”Thanks to all my peeps had a good night out”

My Morning was really sluggish, aku tidak, tidur sama sekalli, pulang nya jam 6am pagi kemudian aku langsung nyetir mobil sendiri ke Rampoa….pas sudah pulang ke Rumah ku sudah jam 8am, aku di bikin serapan yang paling enak “French Toast” with english Tea….Love you Serti (Your such a great help) then aku ketiduran di kamar atas kursi Rotan till I was suddenly woken up by my Security guy saying my friend sudah tiba untuk jemput Laptop teman ku yang berada di mobil yg aku bawa…. aku cuma tidur 1 jam di rempoa, then aku ke apartemen rasuna, sampe sana aku langsung tidur…..woke up about 4 pm, 2 hours in makeup….and hair “gue lama bngt buat persiapan kemana-mana
Also had an exausting trip to Jakarta Soekarno Hatta Airport to pick up my friends fiance coming in from Aussie….”so happy for you Drie & TRENT, ^_^ we were starving then pergi makan di CAVA “Cikini”

Had Beef stroganoff was excellent although the portion was soooo small….I need to diet anyway….
Did a quick stop over at Dunkin Dougnuts, was Hilarious….Orang dan Karyawan in the store were super friendly and even gave me a Hat….”I smell a dunken donuts iklan coming on hehehe” kiding
Met with some crazy ass Satpam too, had sooo much fun laughing and Joking….with them, “Makasih buat menghibur aku ya guys”

Kapanlagi.com - Sibuk sebagai entertain tak membuat Sam Bettay Brodie lupa akan sisi sosialnya. Buktinya ia masih sempat ngurus Yayasan Panti Asuhan Mama Sayang di daerah Cileungsi, Bogor. Selain itu, Sam juga mengalokasikan 50% penghasilannya untuk keperluan yayasan.
Menurut Sam, kegiatan seperti itu merupakan bagian dari rasa syukurnya, makanya dia tidak pernah berpikir untuk mendapatkan honor di setiap acara sosial yang dijalani. “Di situ saya bisa berinteraksi dengan jiwa sosial terhadap sesama, dan itu lebih berharga dari sebuah materi,” ujarnya saat ditemui di Kemang – Jaksel (27/6).
Sam mengaku dirinya pernah mengalami seperti yang dirasakan anak–anak di yayasan. “Saya selalu memandang ke bawah dan berpikir bagaimana bisa menolong sesama dengan mengajak temen–temen artis ikut kegiatan–kegiatan sosial seperti itu,” tuturnya.
Bagi Sam, apa yang ia dapat saat ini tidak akan berarti banyak bila tidak bermanfaat bagi orang lain, terutama anak–anak. “Karena kalau melihat anak–anak kecil happy dan tersenyum saya bangga dan senang sekali,” ucapnya.
Untuk saat ini Sam pingin membuat satu yayasan lagi. Lokasinya yang ia pilih NTT. “Keadaan di sana masih kacau sekali, masih banyak ketertinggalan di sana,semoga semua bisa saya wujudkan, amin,” pungkasnya.
